Body: 5-8, 170-pounds. Strong athletic frame with present strength Hit: RHH. Upright set up with hands set at the ear. Quick and short forward stride with hands neutral throughout load. Feet are straight up. More of an upper body swing that is compact and quick to the ball. Steep-level swing path that worked the middle of the field. Power: 91 mph exit velocity. Showed flashes of good bat speed with a 71.6 mph max bat speed during his bp round. Power is there when he gets out in front. Arm: RH. OF - 75 mph. High release point and really gets under at release for some high arcing throws. Most throws were accurate one hops. Defense: Decent feet. Plays through the ball and uses momentum to get off strong throws. Quick to release. Run: 7.31 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Slow buildup delivery with no wasted energy or movement. Uses a medium knee lift that is straight up and down. Falls down the mound and finishes with a firm front leg and in a good fielding position. Arm Action: RH. Throws out of H 3/4 slot. Compact arm that is quick out of the glove and to release. Arm speed was the same on FB and CH but slowed down on CB. FB: T77, 75-77 mph. Flashed good ride at around 23 inches of VB. CB: 58-60 mph. Thrown at a slower arm speed than FB and CH. Flew open his front side at times with it as well. CH: 70-72 mph. Same arm speed as FB. Lower spin change at around 1400rpm and located it in the zone

Uncommitted. Five-foot-7, 160-pounds. Strong, physical frame with slightly sloped shoulders and noticeable strength throughout the frame. At the plate Benavides showed a level barrel path that he’s able to manipulate based on the location of the pitch. Starts with hands high - even with ear - using a short leg stride to drive hips into ball. Swing can get a bit rotational at times causing him to appear stiff, but shows enough bat/hand speed to catch up to pitches. Defensively in the outfield he showed an accurate arm with some strength. Plays through balls with decent footwork before a pronounced crow-hop allows him to gather and release. On the mound Benavides has a short, compact arm path through to a high 3/4 release point. Gains ground down the mound with significant back leg drive. Two-seam fastball shows late life as it enters the zone while his curveball is a nice change-of-pace pitch that flashes tight spin and late breaking action with 11/5 shape. Also showed feel for a changeup with late fading action. Intriguing player moving forward particularly if he continues to develop the hit tool.
