3/9/18 - Cal State Fullerton signee. Lean and strong body type at 6-foot-1 185-pounds, well-proportioned throughout but with noticeable strength in his lower body. Strong arm with loose wrist, ball exits hand easy, can make snap throws without having great balance but best throws happen when he can get feet under himself. Arm doesn't play as well when having to make throws from lower angles and on the move, particular noticeable moving to his left. Plays to and through the ball well, can tend to take an extra step to get rid of the ball. Plays a bit shallow at the shortstop position. Offensively has an aggressive approach with a big aggressive swing. Bat speed and torque are not an issue, pull side approach and tends to let barrel get ahead of his hands. High level athlete but body control in the box can improve. Swing has whippy life and there will be some power as he ages. Despite big swings he showed acute ability to get the barrel to the baseball. As a runner he accelerates easily, good pop-up slide and ready to take the extra base on a bad throw. Certainly has tools that draw attention, refinement of them will determine what kind of baseball player he will become.
