2/24/18

Arkansas commit. 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame; Tall, slender build with length in legs/arms and ability to continue to add muscle to frame. Mid-3/4 arm slot from simple side step delivery and high leg lift; loose, quick arm shows behind back with wrist bend. Able to gather over mound well and utilize his lower half to push down hill with strong follow through; times where follow through becomes over rotational and pulls him off line to plate. Fastball is upper 80’s pitch showing late run to arm side; generally stays to arm side with pitch, but will back door to right-handed hitter when looking to push them off the plate. Fastball had late life at plate with times of jumping on hitters when moved to top of the zone. Slider was average showing late cutting action to glove side; had tendency to have hand be on side of ball leading to inconsistencies in staying in zone. Curveball was slower pitch with loose spin and ability to drop into zone for strikes; limited usage. Change showed arm side fade with similar arm action as fastball; limited usage but showed flashes and ability to pull string on the pitch. Was up in zone early showing slightly below average control before settling in and peppering arm side of the plate with majority of fastball. Lots of pitches in outing but showed ability to compete and work out of situations and get big strikeouts when needed. Early start in season, but showed competitive streak against high quality opponent.
