Event: Future Games Tryout: NorCal
Positional Profile: RHP
Physical: 6-3, 185-pounds; Lean, athletic frame
Delivery: Imposing mound presence. Begins upright with straight front leg and bent back leg. Initiates a leg kick straight up to the waist, then has a relatively short stride length with a high release point over the top.
Arm Action: High 3/4 release. Separates at the waist then whips the arm down, out then through with his delivery. Clean arm path.
FB: T89.0 mph, 87.3 - 88.4 mph range, 2202 avg spin; Stays on top of the FB well. Maintains a relatively straight plane with precise command. Overpowered hitters with the elevated FB.
SL: 78.1 - 80.2 mph, 1868 avg spin; More vertical break than horizontal. Dives below bats and looks to be a plus secondary offering.
CH: 78.4 - 79.7 mph, 2057 avg spin; Quality depth and delivery remains consistent.
NorCal Underclass Game - Standing 6-foot-3 at 175-pounds, he's first noticeable in that regard. Better was that he showed projectable stuff, a clean arm action, repeatable delivery, and feel of both the FB and what proved to be a very effective breaking ball. FB topped at 84.8 mph (82-84 mph) w/2065 avg spin. It was his feel of, along w/the depth and lateral change of direction of the 76-77 mph slider that was most impressive.
Bay Area World Series Underclass (6/4/21-6/6/21)
Offensive notes: Wider stance, hands back. Jumps to frontside hitting from backside. Handsy swing direct to the ball creating liners to LF. When he stayed tall in posture created best swings and had better balance. 60-yard - 7.57 / EV mph -
Defensive notes: Controlled through the baseball with extra steps to set him up for throws. Arm was compact keeping arced throws online. OF mph - 78
