4/13/18 - Santa Clara commit, second look this spring. 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame. Large, slender frame with length in legs/arms. Budding strength in lower half with frame to add more muscle as he matures. Left-handed with 2-way capabilities and flashes of above average curveball. 2IP, 4H, 5R (4ER), 3BB, 2K; 0-2. Stands tall on mound with slightly closed off front hip turned towards 1 st Base; larger side step and lift delivery with hands staying at chest. High front knee while hands stay at chest allowing clean long release from glove as body pushes down hill; tendency to have front shoulder/chest turning early over flexed front knee leading to some late arm action into 3/4 release. Head has movement as he gets into release point with tendency to be looking down on release. Fastball has late arm side sinking action; when he gets good angle pitch has downhill plane and is tough to square up. Used pitch mainly arm side in outing and did not have good control of pitch. Lots of pitches left up over plate leading to rough day on the mound. Curveball 12-to- 6 action with tight overhand spin down through two levels of zone; at its best it had late depth with flashes of true overhand snap down and out of zone. In the outing pitch was used later in counts having times where it didn’t snap and backed up staying high in zone. Flashed being above average, put away curveball. Change-up was heavy with arm side run; limited usage in outing. Pitch was generally down and out of zone early leaving hitters to not have to worry about third pitch and look fastball; will need to develop change-up for next level success.Offensively uses high hands in relaxed tall stance; uses slight knee tuck to load with hands staying in back shoulder pocket. Strong ability to keep hands tight and drive balls into OF emphasizing back hip rotation into ball. Gets wide with his hitting stance after load allowing front hip to clear and letting his hands get on plane to drive through the ball; bat finishes high at front shoulder through contact. Agile runner with shorter strides; gets feel moving quickly with slight lean forward.

2/23/18 - Santa Clara signee. Physical yet tall and lean athletic body on a 6-foot-2 185-pound frame. Should easily hold size and strength gains in college. Offensively showed a left-handed swing with bat speed and present day strength, line drive type with gap power and a hint of future power projectability. Above average baserunner with good technique on the base paths. Defensively he moves athletically around the bag. Well-rounded player.
