vs Acalanes - Uncommitted; strong athletic build (6-foot-2, 185-pounds), 3/4 slot, high knee tuck lift and delivery reminiscent of Jake Peavy. Fastball peaked at 86, comfort zone was 82-85 and it appeared as though he was intentionally adding and subtracting. Flashed potential for above average sinker to go with 71-73 mph slider with late two-plane break. Diving change-up 74-77 mph is another quality secondary pitch. Highly competitive and though made a few mistakes as he tired deep in the game, he's going to pitch after high school and without assigning him a level, would be interesting to see him continue to develop the next two years at the JC level
BAWS 2019 - Large frame with physicality in the build. Some athleticism in his delivery with hands going down and back up having slight pause on the way down. High front leg with arm having length out of the glove swinging towards first base; fluid and loose. M-3/4 slotlook as glove arm goes out finishing with some extension over inline front foot. FB 79-81 T83 showing natural cut going glove side. SLD 71 showing some cross-plate sweep with early actions. CHG flashed in warmups, but not used during games; arm side fade with decent feel. Attacked the plate during his outing creating weak ground balls and limiting damage working two clean innings.
