2019 Catcher Taylor Johnson (LMU) Five-foot-eight, 180lbs, stocky, strong, compact maxed out frame. Similar body type as Ivan (Pudge) Rodriguez.  More twitchy than fluid with coordinated athleticism. Able to repeat swing from both sides. Has average raw power, strong lower half and hips with swing path that will translate into pull side homerun power in the future, especially from the left side. Excellent receiver that is flexible, agile and able to get under the low ball with consistency. Demonstrates toughness and the ability to keep dirt ball in front of him. Exhibits plus arm strength, accuracy, and quality footwork on throws to second base. Has above average speed for his position and will add value at the top of a lineup.  Not a burner however will steal bags take the extra base when presented. Was one-for-three with this two run homerun, and three RBI’s on the afternoon.
