10/13/18 - Long and lean build on medium frame with wiry muscles throughout body. Built to be typical lead off CF with quick, twitchy speed and ability to find barrels for loud contact. Offensively utilizes a high hand set up with slightly opened, balanced stance while staying tall in posture. Hands stay away from body with bat N/S and wiggle pre-pitch. Lifts front leg while balancing weight into back hip before gaining ground; hands have slight bounce up/down while tucking back arm to body and getting on plane to be direct to the ball. Present bat speed showing ability to get through the ball with quick turns of the body; in game power (3R HR driven to LF) with flashes of bat control (Lined out to CF, RF with both balls barreled) and ability to drop down bunt. Above average runner (4.25 H-1st, 3.97 bunt) with full speed quickly using long, athletic gait to get down the line and stealing bases. In CF, used speed and athleticism while showing ability to track ball to glove-side with quick first step. Fringe-average arm that plays well in CF with quick release. Really set tone for offense getting on-base and making plays in CF.

8-15-2018:Staying true to Aaron Fitt’s notes, Jew had an up and down summer at the plate but routinely impacted the game with his well above average speed. Six-foot-one, 185 pounds with a lean, athletic frame. Defensively, gets quick reads on the ball and shows impressive closing speed. Accurate arm with clean throwing actions, projects to average. Although he’s flashed power at times, skill set is better suited for a contact approach that utilizes the middle of the field. (D Jurik)

7-25-2018:Jew is an athletic, quick-twitch 6-foot-1, 185-pound center fielder whose best tool is his plus-plus speed (got up the line in 4.01 seconds from the right side to beat out an infield single to second base). Defensively, gets quick reads on the ball and shows impressive closing speed. Accurate arm with clean throwing actions, projects to average. Although he’s flashed power at times, skill set is better suited for a contact approach that utilizes the middle of the field. He also showed some bat speed, turning on a 90 mph fastball on the inside corner for a laser double into the left-field corner, and hitting a deep sacrifice fly to left. He had an up and down summer at the plate, but his athleticism is intriguing. Has shown some ability to hit for average in the spring, though he needs to cut down on his swing-and-miss rate in order to make better use of his speed and tap into his table-setter skill set.
