A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.
The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
The maximum speed, in the direction of home plate, that the wrist is traveling. Measured in meters per second (m/s)
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
ACG Tryout - Wide base with more weight sitting in his back leg with a slight drift to contact. Physical build resulted in hard line drives to the pull side during batting practice. Defensively, Patrick’s exchange was very quick and efficient. Exhibited a 78 mph arm and 1.95-1.97 pop time. Calm and relaxed receiver, Ran a 7.37 second 60 yard dash.

Positional Profile: C/RHP Physical: 6-2, 195-pounds; Long, muscular build. 7.49 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Drops hands on the way back with a moderate leg kick for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a high finish. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 97 MPH via Trackman. High % of hard hit and sweet spot % (66.7 for both), physical with bat control, a few balls left the yard during the BP round. Defensively: 2.00-2.14 pop times. C - 78 MPH. Compact and efficient during pop exchange while sitting a bit high during that drill, replaces feet well while displaying body control, accurate strong arm, utilized traditional set-up for pops and one knee while live catching, works under ball cleanly, soft and strong receiver.

Body: 6-1, 185-pounds. Projectable, young frame with good strength currently and more space to fill as he ages. Hit: RHH. Early hand pump, relaxed stance, even hands with big leg lift and reach as hands work back. Holds hinge well early and before the forward move; times where he gets around the front hip. His hands get ahead of the hips a bit but was able to be consistent in his path. Stayed connected well before getting extension through ball post rotation. Worked gap-to-gap and should continue to be strong there as he matures. 60% Line Drives, 57% On Plane Efficiency, 18.7 gs Max Rotational Acceleration, 21.9 Max Handspeed, 69.1 Max Batspeed. Power: 93.20 mph exit velocity Arm: RH. C - 74.00 mph. Short arm action that comes to release from the ear. All throwdowns were accurate to the bag. Slightly above-average arm strength. Defense: 2.03-2.09 pop times. Efficient and quick footwork on throwdowns. Showed good receiving and blocking skills throughout game action as well. Run: 7.75 runner in the 60.
