4.32
vs St. Francis - Uncommitted; The 6-foot-0 180-pound Berry (R/R) continues to intrigue me due to the hand speed and footspeed, both are impact talents. He's going to have to work to incorporate his bottom hand better on the way to contact and when he can get more on plane and not let the top hand dominate on the way to the ball, he's going to start lacing line drives all over. When that happens the plus speed will be on display around the bags vs just down the line. He didn't have a full out time as he hit into a couple of FCs and then a 1-3 put-out and even pulling up a bit he was 4.32 and floating down the line. Watching him warm-up in CF and during pre-game gave a look at what appears to be an above average arm. Not yet had a chance really see him have to go and get a ball.
vs Valley Christian - Uncommitted; 6-foot-0 180-pounds with a strong physical build. Berry has plus wheels and with what I saw of his hitting approach and bat speed, he's got a chance to be a terror for the next three seasons. He showed the ability to lay off quality breaking balls and looks to have a fairly refined approach for a young player. His hand speed when swinging the bat is about as fast as any player around, and he's short to the ball as well, though occasionally the barrel leaves the zone a little early. Berry seems to see the ball well and should be able to frequently find his way on base and wreak havoc on the bases. Not enough of a look to break down the arm and full complement of defensive tools.
vs St. Francis - Limited look but it was an intriguing one, watched warm-up swings in with teammates, physical swing, strong, hands travel through, one game at-bat and didn't end well due to lack of balance in game situation and ability to stay in his legs. However, it's a name to file away and a player to see down the road. Pre-game took INF/OF showed strong OF arm with carry. Young man with good body and a couple of tools that show up even in pre-game warm-ups.
