Positional Profile: SS/2B A twitchy middle infielder with a short, on-plane swing and clean actions, looking to do damage in the air.
Body: 5-10, 160-pounds. Smaller and twitchy frame. Long torso with proportional weight throughout.
Hit: RHH. Narrow and tall stance with back foot angled in. Hands start shoulder level and cock back during load. Legs fire first, allowing the hands to follow through. Stays on plane extremely well, short to the ball. Looking to do damage in the air to LF. 70.2 mph bat speed with 17 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 91.4 mph. 359' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-80 mph. Clean arm path resulting in accurate throws. Ball stays true and has ride twoards the target.
Defense: Short steps and smooth fundamentals. Funnels the ball into the torso well.
ATH: 7.36 runner in the 60. 1.79 and 4.08 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Blackledge was a strong performer at the Central Coast Summer ID and West Coast Super Sophomore Games in 2025, but this was my first look at him during the high school season. Where the athletically built middle of the diamond defender stands out the most at present is in the RH batter's box. He employs a coiled load with a small leg lift to get him on his backside before using an athletic forward move to the launch position. Blackledge showed sound feel to get to launch on time or early, which allowed him to track pitches effectively and hunt the opportunity to swing, which he does with a hitterish intent. The swing itself sequences well from a taller posture that is geared for middle of the field leverage, but can loft the ball towards the pull side and use the whole field. His hands stay back well and are loose during the turn to give him adjustability and quality bat to ball at present, with some barrel awareness. The results on the day for Blackledge weren’t loud, but the process for the rising sophomore gave me plenty of confidence in his ability to be a long-term top of the order profile hitter. He shows athletic actions on the dirt with the ability to range laterally, come downhill quickly, and play with tempo, but there is some consistency that will need to be polished as he got stuck in between on a grounder right at him for an E-4. In totality, Blackledge is a quality name to start following in the 2028 class.

Body: 5-11, 159-pounds. Tall frame with a sturdy lower half and room for continued physical growth.
Hit: RHH. Narrow, bent-knee setup with hands held high near the ear and the barrel angled over the helmet toward the pitcher. Small, controlled leg lift for timing. Long, loose barrel works freely through the zone while maintaining an upright posture. 70.4 mph bat speed with 14 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 85.7 mph. 340' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-80 mph. Works from a low 3/4 slot with a short, quick release. Lengthened follow-through creates some natural carry.
Defense: Displays sound baseline actions with a smooth glove as the ball enters. Transfer is serviceable with clear room to tighten as he matures.
ATH: 7.19 runner in the 60. 1.68 and 3.94 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 23.40 max vertical.

Hit: RHH. Narrow lower half stance. Knees bent. Hands held high at ear level. Bat angles over helmet towards pitcher. Small leg lift stride. Long, loose barrel through zone. Stays tall throughout swing. 65.6 mph bat speed with 9 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 83.7 mph. 347' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-72 mph. Low 3/4 release. Slight pause in arm path. Short, quick release. Long follow-through.
Defense: Fundamental movements. Decent transfer with room to grow. Smooth glove as ball approaches.
