Miranda, an OC Preseason ID standout, showed well in this look with an opposite-field double in his first at-bat, continuing a strong start to his sophomore campaign. He’s currently hitting .345 with a home run and three doubles in 29 at-bats, showing early offensive production with the ability to stay through the baseball and use the whole field. Behind the plate, Miranda displayed solid defensive traits, highlighted by an accurate catch-and-throw ability and a standout moment where he threw out a runner from his knees in the middle innings. His in-game pop times ranged from 2.10-2.20, showing consistency in his actions. The frame is larger and projects toward a strength-based profile, but the next step will be continuing to improve overall quickness — both on the bases and behind the plate — to round out the skill set. With the present tools and offensive production, Miranda is trending in a positive direction early in his sophomore year.
