Taylor spent his spring at Notre Dame contributing in a variety of ways as a role player after shining on our event platform stage in the summer and fall of 2025. Now making his way to the Future Games Tryout, the two-way talent was prepared to perform, yet again. During the workout portion of the day, he showed off real three-position OF versatility as an athletic runner with present arm strength from the OF reaching 92 MPH on his throws to home plate. At the plate, his athletic RH swing is showing improved bat speed now up to 72+ MPH with improved angles after contact, producing a 78% sweet spot rate and a 348' max distance on a drive to the pull side of the field while reaching nearly 95 MPH on his max EV. The quality of his BP carried over to the game, where he had two hits, including one off an upper 80's FB while stealing multiple bases using his athleticism to create contact. While there is plenty to love about his offensive ability, there is something really alluring about the way he moves on the mound. In a five-batter stint, Taylor showed an easy ability to throw 84-86 MPH with loose quickness to his arm and the confidence to change arm slots to create deception for hitters. The FB shows carry and spin through the zone at present, averaging over 2400 RPMs on the day. He mixed an 80-82 MPH CHG with a quality 73-74 MPH CB that has a vertical shape and shows a 72-75 MPH SLD. Taylor pitches with confidence, control, athleticism, and feel to execute his pitches consistently. He struck out three of the five hitters he faced, allowed one soft contact ball in play, with one runner reaching via a walk. With real ability on each side of the game and having a frame that projects to continue adding strength to an already intriguing profile, Taylor should be a player college programs start taking an early interest in for the 2028 class.

Taylor opened his career in the competitive Mission League by playing on the lower levels at Notre Dame High School, but his athletic upside was on display during the workout. A wiry present athletic build Taylor stands at 5'10 158.1 lbs., but has the upside to add strength as he matures while showing the athleticism to stay up the middle defensively. He ran 7.17 60 yard time with 1.68 10 yard and 3.92 30 yard splits while approaching 19 MPH on his max run speed. The SoCal based product boasts present arm strength that will catch your eyes (it showed up during his outing on the mound later in the week) and reached 89 MPH from the OF with carry and accuracy to his throws. At the plate he showcased an athletic operation in the box which also impressed VP of Scouting Shooter Hunt during his round. Taylor sprayed hard line drives around PK Park including ones that were up to 95.8 MPH of exit velocity with 324' max distance and a 78% sweet spot rate. The RH hitter gets there with a compact swing producing nearly 70 MPH of bat speed and quick hands that move at 22.9 MPH during the swing while producing 11.4 Gs of rotational acceleration. All in all Taylor showed that he has the realistic two-way player profile for the present and could make a case that he has the potential to do both going forward with his workout performance.

Taylor showed off an athletic position player profile during the workout portion before backing it up with a strong showing over the multiple games played including a pair of hard hit baseball with one going for a hit up the middle. He looked comfortable playing all over the OF and nearly made a highlight reel diving catch when he ranged from the LCF gap into the RCF gap leaving his feet to just miss a ball in the gap. But, for as solid as his position player showing was during the event it's the work Taylor did on the mound at PK Park which cemented his appearance here. An athletic mover down the mound with impressive arm speed for a rising Soph. who repeats the delivery efficiently the righthander showed off some of the best stuff on the mound of the weekend. Taylor pitched off a FB that lived at 83-86 MPH with life thru the zone while backing it up with a sharp 2400+ RPM SLD at 71-75 MPH as his primary secondary. He mixed in a sound 79-80 MPH cut FB to go with the makings of a sound 75-76 MPH CHG. Jason pounded the zone at a high level to pick up multiple Ks in his outing with soft contact from the hitters who were able to get the ball in play off him. Another player whose overall performance at West Coast Super Sophomore Games should bring a hefty rise to his profile on our rankings board come the end of fall.
