Oliver showed off his power at the plate this week, blasting three home runs against Terra Linda. The junior SS put together a standout season, hitting .369 with five home runs, 10 doubles, and 29 RBIs.

Oliver was another key cog in Novato’s lineup, putting together two hard hits and working 3 QAB’s on the day. Beginning his afternoon with a full count BB out of the 3-spot, stealing 2nd, and coming around to score, Oliver would send a high FB down the LF line for a 1 out 1B. After looking at a tough 2-2 CB for strike 3 in his 3rd AB, Oliver would bounce back by hammering a CH to deep RCF that just hit off the CF’s glove for a 2B as he crashed into the wall. Standing with a slightly open stance, Oliver gets into his front side well, utilizing his solid bat speed to generate lift/carry to the pull-side and up-the-middle. Oliver would move from SS to the mound in the 7th, closing the game out with a scoreless inning and showing a solid FB/SL/CH mix. With room to add to his 6’ 0” frame, I can see Oliver adding some more HR power in his future, with the potential to see even more time on the mound.
