Mason Ritchey, Garces Memorial High School (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: RHP/OF Projectable 2-way with a strong hit tool and an athletic feel on the mound. Pitching velocity will only increase with time given the OF arm strength.
Body: 5-11, 162-pounds. Proportional body with room to fill. Projectable frame.
Delivery: Repeatable mechanics, staying stacked as he rides the slope. A linear delivery, slightly opening up the front leg before front foot strike. Strong finish over the lead leg with energy going towards the catcher.
Arm Action: RH. Athletic and loose arm swing. Arm is up on time at a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T84, 81-83 mph. FB has strong vertical ride that gets on hitters quick. Not afraid to attack hitters in the zone. T2215, 2137 average rpm.
SL: 71-74 mph. A tighter gryo slider that tunnels well off the FB. Moves slightly less than a traditional sweeper but has more horizontal movement than vertical movement. T2049, 1977 average rpm.
CH: 76-76 mph. A low spin CH that has an equal amount of fade and drop. Effective pitch against LHH. T1649, 1649 average rpm.
ATH: 7.53 runner in the 60. 1.69 and 4.09 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Positional Profile: RHP/OF Projectable 2-way with hit tools and an athletic feel on the mound. Pitching velocity will only increase with time given the OF arm strength.
Body: 5-11, 162-pounds. Proportional body with room to fill. Projectable frame.
Hit: RHH. Balanced stance with hands relaxed over his back shoulder. A slight leg kick, hinging into the back hip while his hands stay relaxed, creating natural hip shoulder separation. Hands are direct to the ball and his head stays still as he makes contact. Catches the ball deep, looking to do damage on a line. 65.3 mph bat speed with 11 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 95 max exit velocity, averaged 88.2 mph. 330' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-92 mph. Extremely strong arm with carry through the throw. Ball stays on a line and towards the target.
Defense: Attacks the ball aggresively with a smooth two step shuffle.
ATH: 7.53 runner in the 60. 1.69 and 4.09 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
Vizual Edge: 72.27 Edge Score

Mason Ritchey, Garces Memorial High School (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: RHP/OF Two-way athlete with developing strength and pitchability.
Body: 5-10, 159-pounds. Lean, athletic frame with wiry strength and plenty of physical growth ahead.
Delivery: Works with a deliberate, balanced tempo. Lifts to the belt with quiet hands set at the chest, staying compact through the gather. Reaches a strong stack position before drifting into a smooth move down the mound. Creates some flex in the back leg as he initiates the stride.
Arm Action: RH. Compact arm path that works short and tight behind the body. The arm accelerates quickly with a clean stroke into a high three-quarter release. Stays efficient with minimal recoil, allowing for repeatability.
FB: T82, 79-81 mph. Shows flashes of ride at the top of the zone with consistent glove-side command. T2135, 2032 average rpm.
SL: 72-74 mph. Softer spin profile with consistent top-to-bottom action and feel to land for strikes. T2013, 1771 average rpm.
CH: 75-75 mph. Demonstrates the ability to reduce spin and create subtle vertical separation from the FB. T1252, 1196 average rpm.
ATH: 7.75 runner in the 60. 1.80 and 4.24 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 18.50 max vertical.

Hit: RHH. Begins from a medium-width stance with slight flexion in the knees and a forward-leaning posture from the hips. Barrel rests flat behind the head while the hands sit high near the ear. Uses a subtle hover move to settle into the back leg before initiating a smooth forward move. Lower half fires with intent, generating rotation through the hips and allowing the hands to work short and direct. Creates leverage out front with a slight upward finish. 66.2 mph bat speed with 8 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 79.9 mph. 288' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-87 mph. Medium arm circle with noticeable quickness. Accurate with modest carry.
Defense: Moves with controlled footwork and a natural sense of timing as he works through the baseball. Keeps momentum headed toward the target and maintains a playable, steady tempo.
ATH: 7.75 runner in the 60. 1.80 and 4.24 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 18.50 max vertical.
Vizual Edge: 75.54 Edge Score

Ritchey showed off a solid overall toolset during the workout portion of the event with quality tools in a variety of different areas of the game. But, for the Bakersfield based product it was his ability to utilize those tools in game play that shined the brightest showing his present and future upside. Ritchey takes consistently comfortable takes while in the box showing the ability to track and be on time with pitches to make high quality swing decisions over four trips the dish at PK Park (as well on display at Bushnell University field). His first trip to the dish was the only one he had that didn't result in a high quality result for himself or his team when he struck out. Over his next three trips to the plate the RH hitter would pcik up a pair of RBIs while drawing a walk. With a runner on third later in the first game he played at PK Park Mason smoked a line drive that took the RF defender for the opponent towards the wall to pick up a SAC Fly. In his next trip to the plate on the final day of the event he drew a walk laying off pitches outside of the zone. Then in his final at bat of the weekend the RH hitter timed up a 86 MPH FB out over the plate and smoked a double into the RCF gap. Ritchey played all over the OF with comfort showing the potential to handle any of the three position long term based on the development of his athletic profile and arm strenght, but one thing is certain his bat has the potential to be an impactful one.
