Mason Sims, Corona High School (CA), 2027 Texas
Positional Profile: LHP/OF LHP with strong hip-shoulder separation and a low, driving delivery.
Body: 5-11, 177-pounds. Compact, athletic frame.
Delivery: Glove starts low at belt level, brings it high towards the face, then back down to just above belt level. Front leg rocks back into a medium leg kick towards the belt, sinking well into the hips and driving low down the mound. Strong hip-shoulder separation present with repeatable actions throughout. Body postures up when throwing breaking pitches.
Arm Action: LH. 3/4 arm slot with a low jab arm backpath. Long, loose release with slight recoil present.
FB: T92, 90-92 mph. Firm, straight fastball. T2236, 2074 average rpm.
SL: 75-77 mph. Sharp horizontal movement with some vertical depth. T2375, 2111 average rpm.
CH: 81-81 mph. Dives aggressively and could pair well with the fastball. T948, 948 average rpm.

After walking one and surrendering a lineout to left field, it became a strong finish for Sims in his outing, with three consecutive strikeouts as his stuff seemed to get better with each batter he faced. The Texas commit worked 90-92 mph with the fastball, showing occasional ride through the zone that helped the entire arsenal play up. While he doesn't possess an imposing frame, Sims is strong-bodied and athletic, allowing him to repeat his delivery and attack hitters with confidence. His ability to sequence pitches stood out as much as the raw stuff. Sims paired the fastball with a mid-70s slider and a highly effective changeup that averaged just 948 rpm, creating significant separation and deception off the fastball. His feel for sequencing was especially evident during his three-strikeout finish, as he mixed pitches effectively. Sims also displayed an uncomfortable look in left-on-left matchups, with one of his ABs coming against a top LHH in the 2028 class.
