Osvaldo Nunez, Bishop Alemany High School (CA), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/1B Physical RHP with starter potential and a nasty three-pitch mix.
Body: 6-4, 190-pounds. Tall, long levered frame with present strength.
Delivery: Slow windup with slight pause before initiating the leg kick. Sinks heavily into the back hip and strides with considerable distance down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm circle with explosive, whippy arm that finishes from a low 3/4 slot. Generates significant arm speed.
FB: T88, 87-88 mph. FB has strong arm side fade with late life and a high spin rate. Demonstrates easy command to all parts of the plate. T2278, 2200 average rpm.
SL: 73-73 mph. Sharp and late horizontal break with significant spin. SL snaps off and works down in the zone. T2346, 2241 average rpm.

Nunez returns to the Prep Baseball California stage after a strong showing at the 2025 Central California Preseason All State. At that event he was in the low 90's with his FB, showed an emerging feel to spin his breaking ball and an intriguing CHG against live hitters. In a bullpen setting for the PSID event Nunez once again stood out with over 20+ pitchers in attendance. He controlled a lively upper 80's FB on the day, while dropping in his upper 70's CHG with strong feel for killing spin on the offering and improved feel for controlling his low 70's SLD. Nunez spins his FB with over 2200 RPMs of average spin while generating life to the arm side with nearly 17" of average horizontal run on the pitch. The SLD for Nunez gives him an east/west attack profile mixing the -5.5" average horizontal breaking offering. He gets a vertical shape difference when he mixes in an impressive upper 70's CHG that has over 10+" of vertical separtion in the IVB reading compared to his FB while killing over 500+ RPMs of spin differential from his FB. Nunez throws all of his pitchers from a lower arm slot in the 5' range for each pitch creating a different look for RH hitters. He has transferred into Bishop Alemany for his SR. season and is a talented uncommitted arm for college programs to be taking note of.

Osvaldo Nunez, Notre Dame High School (CA), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/1B Rising arm who shows quality present FB velocity, impressive CHG and emerging SLD that has a starters profile with a high ceiling
Body: 6-4, 190-pounds. Prototype pitcher build with strength in lower half and room to fill still
Delivery: Lower hand set with small movement as it syncs with the front leg in the load portion of delivery. Front leg leads down the mound with athletic easy operation. Uses hips well while flashing feel to block on his front side.
Arm Action: RH. Short compact arm path out of the glove with present quick arm speed that works to more of a 3/4 release point with minimal recoil after release.
FB: T92, 89-91 mph. Firm FB which has really good spin and the shape has both ride and run especially when thrown up in the zone T2473, 2307 average rpm.
SL: 73-76 mph. Emerging SLD which is starting to show better spin to go with horizontal sweep that can be a glove side moving offering with potential T2297, 2191 average rpm.
CH: 81-83 mph. Deceptive CHG with heavy fade to the arm side and ability to kill spin. Picks up whiff and soft contact on it. T1713, 1662 average rpm.

Nunez entered the event as one of the most highly regarded arms in attendance at the Notre Dame righthander did not disappoint whatsoever. In fact, he reached a new personal best hitting 92 MPH with his FB while mixing in an ever improving SLD which is starting to gain velocity and life as he gains improved feel for it. Plus, like Newhouse above Nunez throws a highly intriguing CHG which he turns over with deception to get swing/miss - chase - soft contact from hitters. Nunez was touched for a hit after a deep count by Oregon Commit Brady Hewitt who went down and got a 3-2 SLD low away for a single and missed with a SLD for HBP, but picked up multiple Ks and showed once again why he is on the rise in Southern California and the entire state.
