Game Performance

Notes

Comments

4/23/25
Hubbard delivered a 2 HR game in the 10-0 win over Cardinal Newman at the Boras Classic as part of a stellar week at the plate. The junior went 5-for-12, with 2 HR, a 3B, a 2B, and 6 RBI to help lead Oak Ridge to a 3-1 record on the week. Hubbard now leads the Trojans with 3 HR on the season.
3/26/25

Hubbard was the starting catcher in today’s game against the Davis Blue Devils, his offensive performance at the plate led the Trojans to a win. The common denominator in every at bat was straight barrels, Hubbard does a great job of attacking fastballs early in the count and turning on heaters. Two of his hits were poolside into the six hole, Hubbard has a simple swing and doesn’t like to get cheated. Hubbard was on base machine adding a walk to his three hits, the kid just wants to win and it shows when you watch him from the stands. Hubbard has attended a few events in the past so he wasn't a new face by any means, but his maturity into his junior campaign has really projected around his teammates. Along with his plethora of offense, Hubbard added a stolen base to show he can run too. Behind the plate, he could have been a bit cleaner on the blocking, but for the most part commanded the game well from behind. There were a couple of snap throws he got off to 1B that were impressive and quick release. Seeing Hubbard in a game was worth it, he plays extremely hard and has great feel in the batters box.
