Wesley Williams, Ventura (CA), 2031
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-2, 93-pounds.
Hit: SH. Narrower base with slightly open foot setup. Crouched in the knees with hands set at ear height over the rear shoulder. Low back elbow with the barrel tipped towards 3B dugout. Small leg lift with a hover in the load before taking an athletic stride to launch. Hands load back quietly with separation from the body. Back knee trigger starts the swing with a well sequenced turn. Hands/barrel work inside the baseball with leverage through the zone.
Power: 76 max exit velocity, averaged 67.3 mph. 236' max distance. Swing produces consistent contact in the air with flashes of some present impact. Geared for hard line drives with a line to line doubles profile.
Arm: RH. OF-62 mph. Fluid path out of the glove with a loose stroke, quick arm stroke that has fluidity. Throws uphill at present with accuracy to throws.
Defense: Athletic mover with quickness in the feet. Works through the ball with rhythm, shows body control and awareness.
ATH: 8.60 runner in the 60.

Williams may not evoke much when it comes to an eye test at present, but there is noticeable athleticism in how he moves with some twitchy quickness in his running stride, movements in the OF, and arm path when throwing that are strong for a player his age. While still more than a year away from high school and plenty of physical development before we see him on a varsity field, Williams gives the foundation and vibes of a player who can slot into a CF defensive position and provide solid to strong defense when he reaches that level if he continues on the developmental process he is building. At the plate, his swing is loose and athletic, with balance in the load and at launch to make a quick turn with his hips and a barrel/hand path that works directly to the ball with leverage through the zone. He showed sneaky strength with a USSSA bat in his hand, but the foundation of his offensive operation looks like one that will translate well to the BBCOR bat in the future, and as he fills out, his defensive profile flashes real upside as an RH hitter who shows a hit tool with sound bat-to-ball and barrel awareness at a young age.
