A 5-foot-9, 190-pound left hand hitting 3B/2B who ran a 7.30 60. At the plate he is balanced and square. Slow load to the back side with his weight before driving through the zone. Good extension out front creates a 90 MPH exit velocity. During the live round he showed great bat control to all fields. In the field he played 3rd base and played it well. He has a good first step on balls to the backhand side. He uses quick hands to get rid of the ball and delivers an accurate 77 MPH throw.
4-24-16
A 5-foot-9, 190-pound left hand hitting 2B/3B who ran a 7.32 60. At the plate he stands open with a long stride to come square. Weight stays on the back leg with strong hip rotation on the swing. Exit velocity was 88 MPH with an uphill swing path, several balls carried well to the right center gap. At third base, he shows good feet and quick hands. He gets rid of the ball quickly and throws from a high ¾ release. Arm velocity was 80 MPH with accuracy.
2-28-16
A 5-foot-9, 190-pound left hand hitting 2B/3B who ran a 7,41 60. Starts open at the plate with a slight leg kick to come square. Hands load back and drop slightly. Swing path is uphill with good power to the right center gap. Good lower leg drive and rotation produced a 91 MPH exit velocity. In the field he has soft hands and good feet. He showed well at 3B and we have seen him up the middle. He has a good transfer to the throwing window and delivers from a high ¾ arm slot. Arm velocity was 85 MPH with accuracy. Identified with the best hitting approach 2017 at this event.
5-foot-9, 180 pounds. Bats left and throws right. Morgan is a pretty strong kid for his size and has good power, especially the other way. Offense is his strength. At the plate Morgan has a smooth load back, with medium stride. Has a smooth level swing through the zone that produces gap to gap power. Bat stays in hitting zone a long time and he gets good extension through the ball. Defensively might project as a 3B. Wants to field ball off to side at times, but makes the play and showed soft hands. Threw 72 mph across the diamond. Ran a 7.40 60 time. Will be a factor in Highlands Ranch lineup this spring.
