10/23/16- His velocity wasn’t the 90-92 mph we saw last week in Diamond Club and was more in the 85-87 mph range. The crossfire delivery and easy arm action creates late life and the velocity will come. That, along with a plus slider that ranged from 73-75 with late biting action, helped him strike out four in three innings of work.
10/16/16- Florida recruit. At 6-foot-4, 185 pounds he has a long and lean frame with a high waist and long legs that projects to significantly fill out. Landing somewhat closed, he throws from a ¾ slot resulting in a crossfire action with a lot of deception. He shows a clean and easy arm action resulting in a fastball that ranged from 90-91 mph with more to come. His best pitch is an above average sweeping slider. From the closed landing and ¾ slot, he still manages to stay on top of the baseball creating a late sweeping action with tight spin that ranged from 79-81 mph. The combination of the frame, easy and clean arm action and above average slider will make him one to watch come the draft in June and if he does not sign could be an immediate impact guy at Florida.
07/08/16- Committed to the University of Florida
07/07/16- 6-foot-4 185 pounds with a projectable frame and repeatable delivery, Churchill showed an athletic short and quick arm action. This arm action produced a fastball ranging from 86-89 mph and will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half and get down the mound better. His slider was impressive at 74-75 mph with tight spin getting a lot of swing and misses. The changeup sat at 80 mph which he threw with a good arm speed. Churchill is very projectable and will be interesting to see when he makes another jump to potentially put him into the draft boards.
2/16/16- Uncommitted junior who stands at 6-foot-4, 190 pounds with a tall, long, lean, and projectable body. Loose, quick, and shorter ¾ arm slot. His arm slot and the way he closes himself off makes him more deceptive. His fastball sat 85-86 mph across Sarasota and he showed off a solid 73-74 mph curveball. 2 IP, 3 Ks, 2 ER.
10/15- Up to 88 mph.
