2/12/19

Florida State recruit. The athletic 6-foot, 170 pound middle infielder was one of the more impressive defenders on the day. He has natural bounce in his step, quick, easy lateral agility. Under control, but works fast while keeping feet and hands in sync. Overall has the actions to be a potential plus defender. Offensively, he has an early separation while can create some length at times. The hands are loose and bat has natural whip. Swing will become more compact with strength and maturity and has present bat speed that should develop into gap to gap power. Overall, a potential plus defender with a high offensive ceiling.

6-foot, 170-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher, lanky, athletic build. Defensively, short athletic arm action, mostly over-the-top slot, showed ability to drop slot and make throws on run, maintains good balance, 84 mph across the infield. Quick, instinctive, first step, covers ground laterally well. Ran a 6.94 60. Offensively, open setup, short stride, hands load back, maintains balance. Barrel works long and athletically through the zone, line drive approach. On the mound, long circular arm action, hides on back-side, over-the-top slot. Fastball sat mostly 79-81, touched 83 mph. Curveball, 12/6 shape, 67 mph. Changeup, at 71 mph.
