6-1, 180.The Florida commit paced the 5 star offense with a .1000 OBP while lacing a firm single early in the game. He showed good athleticism in the infield and was steady Eddie making the routine plays hit to him and turning the engine on DP balls. The swing is compact, short, long through the zone and he showed the ability to backspin the baseball.
12/11/17- Committed to the University of Florida.
11/12/17- After a standout performance earlier in the fall, Campbell continued to impress this weekend and show why he is one of the top players in his class. He is extremely athletic with a strong lower half and a projectable build standing at 5-foot-11, 140 pounds. To start the event, he clocked in at 6.80 seconds for his 60 yard dash time showing smooth, athletic strides. From the outfield he takes efficient routes to the ball and displayed strong, accurate throws that topped out at 78 mph even under some rainy conditions. From shortstop, Campbell showed good actions, range, and fielded the ball under control and out in front with a quick release. Above average arm with throws that topped out at 84 mph across the diamond. During batting practice was where Campbell really shined as he displayed above average bat speed, a feel for the barrel, and the ability to consistently drive the ball deep in the gaps with multiple hard hit line drives. The swing really works and everything is in sync and in rhythm. He also shows a strong understanding of the strike zone, hangs in the count, and knows when to lay off pitches out of the zone. High follow going forward.
08/26/17- One of the youngest players in attendance not only held his own during the showcase, but competed and put on an impressive performance as well. Stands at 5-foot-11, 140 pounds with a lean, projectable build on a good lower half with plenty of athleticism. Stood out immediately to start the day when he clocked in at 6.65 seconds for his 60 yard dash time. From the outfield he showed an accurate arm with carry on his throws that topped out at 80 mph. In the infield he fielded the ball out in front and showed the ability to range to his left and right with his throws topping out at 78 mph across the diamond. At the plate he displayed a balanced setup with above average bat speed through the zone and some feel for the barrel. At times he can be out on his front foot, but when he stays back on the ball he makes solid contact. Campbell only will continue to improve as he strengthens and matures, which makes him a high follow for his class.
