6/17/22

MLB Draft Combine: Mature bodied. Quick arm from high three-quarter slot. Compact/full path in back. Throws with effort, let's it rip out front. Reliever look. FB 94-97, spinning in the mid-2300s. Hard biting curve 83-84 mph at 2950+ rpm. Power sweeper slider 84-87. 89-90 CH.

4/21/22

The 6-foot-2 right hander has posted excellent numbers to date this spring with a 2.93 ERA in 46.0 IP. He has walked 12 and struck out 60. A likely reliever at the next level, Kerkering competes with a 93-96 mph fastball and a plus slider for swing/miss.

10/11/17

Uncommitted 6-foot-2, 170 pound right handed pitcher continued his upward trend on the weekend. The velocity continues to improve and he worked 86-88 mph with life down in the zone. There in some shortness in arm action in the back with some inversion, but he gets to a quality position at footstrike and the arm is quick. He has a projectable frame and should continue to improve with strength. He also featured a short, hard slider at 75-78 mph that he showed an above average feel for.

1/28/17

The 6-foot, 165-pound right handed pitcher shows a short quick arm action with clean arm swing in the back. The fastball come out of the hand well and ranged from 82-85 mph. Also showed feel for a changeup that ranged from 67-69 mph. He got around the curveball at times, but had quality shape at 64-66 mph. With a simple, sound delivery and good lower half the arm action works and velocity will jump with strength and innings. Off speed will also improve with added innings.

9/24/16

Stands at 5-foot-11, 150 pounds with a lean, lanky, projectable build. Has a simple, repeatable delivery throwing out of the high ¾ arm slot. Fastball sits 81-83 mph with run along with a 67-70 mph curveball that shows some depth. Throws both of his pitches for a high percentage of strikes. Kept runners tight to the bag with a quick pick-off move.

8/13/16

Five-foot-10, 150 pounds with a lean, athletic build. Had an over the top arm slot, quick arm, featuring a sink fastball that was 80-82 mph. Can really spin it, breaking ball was a slurve at 67 mph with late bite. Look for him to only get better as he grows into his body.
