5/25/19- Strong stocky frame coming at 6 foot 2 inches and 215 pounds. Has clean short arm action with carry and accurate with throws. Clean exchange and moves fluid to the ball with a good first step. Stays balanced at the plate with a leg kick and level through the zone for good extension. Uses the lower half well and creates good bat speed with exit velocity at 90 mph showing gap to gap power and potential for pull side power.
2/11/19 - Stetson recruit. The 6-foot-2, 215 pound catcher has broad shoulders and a frame that can add some additional strength. Defensively, he is all around solid. Flexible, especially for his size. Comfortable setup, hands work and feet and transfer are clean with pop times in the 2.11-2.18 range. Offensively, there is some length in the path and could get more from the lower half, but generates bat speed and has strength. There is leverage in the swing with power potential and shows in the 94 mph exit velocity. High ceiling catcher with power potential.
10/12/18 - Stetson commit. 6-foot-2, 210-pound right-handed catcher, strong, physical frame. Takes a power approach at the plate, there is some swing and miss, but when on time, yields hard contact, pull-side tendency. One of the few 2020s in attendance and the only catcher.
07/10/18- Committed to Stetson University.
06/23/18- Uncommitted. Athletic, muscular build at 6-foot-1 197 pounds. Defensively there are tools to like and potential to be a well above average defender. Arm is solid average with good carry to the bag, best pop time is 1.96, and moved well behind the plate in game action. There is a lot of present athleticism and ran a 7.0. During BP he looked to pull and had strength in the swing. The ball carried when his timing was right. He works with a leg kick trigger and bat angle at load can be inconsistent and create length, but the athleticism, strength and bat speed lead to believe he will continue to clean up the mechanics and have ability to consistently hit and hit with power. Translated well in the game as he turned on a fastball hitting a home run to left center. Overall, a big strong catcher with above average defensive tools and power potential will be an impact player at the next level.
