3/04/22

Georgia Tech commit. 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting infielder, strong build, physical lower half, athletic, one of the state’s top pure hitters. Keeps it relatively simple pre-pitch with an athletic stance, short stride and a smooth load. Advanced hand-eye and ability to recognize pitches, can extend bats and rarely chases. Consistently barrels the ball up and can drive to all fields with power to the gaps and pull-side. Swing is short and quick, smooth actions, twitchy lower half.

3/20/21

Georgia Tech commit. 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting third baseman, proportional build, strength throughout, one of the top bats in Georgia’s 2022 class. Continues to hit every level of pitching he comes across. Put Buford in the lead with a third inning solo home run. High baseball IQ, good feel for the zone, recognizes pitches early. Instinctual hitter, quick, strong hands, sprays the ball to all fields.

2/17/21

Georgia Tech commit, No. 9 prospect in Georgia’s 2022 class. 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting infielder, strong build, one of the top overall hitters in the class, a proven winner. Keeps it simple at the plate, balanced setup, leg lift stride, smooth hand load, great balance throughout. Advanced feel for the barrel and hand-eye coordination. Has a knack for barreling pitches up, can use the entire field. Delivered the game winning hit against Parkview in the bottom of the fifth with the bases loaded and two outs, one hopped a ball down the third base line that rolled all the way to the wall for a three run double.

PBR Showdown

Georgia Tech commit. 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder, an advanced hitter with strength throughout his frame, highly athletic hands. One of the top hitters in the Georgia’s ‘22 class, Baughcum takes professional ABs, rarely gets cheated. Is the total package at the plate with quick hands and bat speed, an advanced feel for the zone, almost always finds the barrel. Has added an ample amount of strength to his frame which has resulted in added power to his swing, now becoming a serious long ball threat to the pull-side and gaps.

3/07/20

Ga.Tech commit. 5-foot 10, 180-pounds played SS today.  Rock solid build proportional top to bottom, well developed broad slightly slope shoulders very strong through his core. Arm half grade above avg more suited for second base.  Defense: quick feet rangey infielder with a hard nose approach to everything. Knock everything down at all cost style, high effort put out on the field. Achieves a solid hands out front fielding position and picks up most every ball he reaches. Arm is strong enough for SS but low natural slot creates a little sink and run. Offensively, very well balanced aggressive swing.  Good strike zone recognition and above avg runner makes a solid leadoff hitter for Brookwood. High IQ with natural leadership skills Brant has a lot of experience against good comp. for a 2022. Ga Tech got themselves a good one here.

8/22/19

Baughcum has been on our radar from quite sometime.  He was first spotted by National writer Shooter Hunt the Fall before he played an inning of high school ball.  Baughcum is a high energy baseball junkie.  He plays with tons of energy and a high baseball IQ.  Baughcum impacted every game Team Georgia played at the Future Games and did so in a different way every time he stepped on the field.  Proving being an impact player is not always making the loudest, but that is not to say he did not have some loud moments.  Baughcum is a "Baseball Player" in the purest sense of the words. The rising Sophomore received interest from schools from coast to coast after the Future Games, but quickly decided he wanted to stay home and committed to Georgia Tech.
