4/15/22

Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed hitting third baseman and shortstop, projectable build, long, lanky with room to add strength. Highly competitive at the plate. Mature approach. Fell behind in the count twice, widened stance and shortened up swing, resulting in two hits, a two run triple and a one run single. Quick hands and aggression in swing allows for hard hit balls when keeping it simple. Can use the entire field with driven contact.

2/01/22

McKenna continues to trend in the right direction and be a reliable performer on top of that. At 6-foot-2, 170-pounds, He has a projectable build with plenty of strength to come as he matures. A right-handed hitter, McKenna consistently barreled and drove the ball gap-to-gap. As he becomes stronger, look for big power to emerge.

6/22/21

The Titans Baseball 2024 group was fun to watch in finishing second in the age group, and McKenna was a big part of that. Long and athletic at 6-foot-2, 170-pounds, the shortstop stands out on the diamond thanks to a projectable frame, and moves fluidly with relaxed actions. A varsity player as a freshman, the right-handed hitter demonstrates an ability to change planes with the barrel, and is unafraid to battle deep into counts, utilizing the whole field to spray line drives with more power likely on the way as he fills out. Thanks to his athleticism and ability to perform in-game, McKenna is a player that college coaches will want to track closely moving forward.

6/09/21

Positional Profile: SS/3B
Body: 6-2, 170-pounds. Lean, lanky frame, athletic, projectable, lots of room to fill out.
Hit: R/R. Open setup, short hand load with a cocking of the barrel, short stride, good balance, keeps it simple. Swing path is short and compact to the zone, level with extension through, easy effort, gap-to-gap approach, flashed pull-side power, good barrel control, repeatable.
Power: 88.78 max exit velocity, averaged 79.75 mph. 298.00’ max distance.
Arm: R/R. INF - 75.00 mph. Short, clean arm action to an over-the-top slot, accurate, more arm strength to come.
Defense: Fields position athletically, fluid footwork, good body control, soft glove, feel for back hand, clean on exchanges.
Run: 7.17 runner in the 60.

3/08/21

6-foot-2, 165-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder, started at first base before moving to third base against Alpharetta, projectable frame, lean strength, more to come. At the plate, wide setup, high back elbow, smooth load, short stride, good balance through finish. Line drive type hitter, swing works level through the zone with some whip. Power will come as he continues to physically mature and develop. Came up with a big RBI 2B down the left field line to tie the game.
