Game Performance

2/25/26
The Western Carolina commit had himself an active evening as he reached in every plate appearance and did damage as well. To start the game, he worked a great AB for a BB to then come around to score the game’s first of many runs. The next inning, he had another quality at bat and lined a ball into RF for a single, again coming around to score for the Tigers. His third at bat was very loud as he put up a fight and waited for his pitch, and did not miss it, launching it well over the fence and into the HIES parking lot for a 2R HR in the back and forth affair. In his final AB, he stood firm and took the HBP in a much needed spot, coming around for his 4th run scored of the game, tying it late at 9 a piece. At the leadoff spot for KRCS, Ward can quickly light a fire for his teammates to rally off of. His 6.29 speed showed as any dirt ball was a free base for him. A constant threat in the box, on the bases, and in the OF, Ward is expected to make noise the rest of the way.
5/11/24

Big-time speed on display from the uncommitted sophomore on Saturday. It started early when Ward expanded the zone to catch a barrel at his shins and proceeded to drive it over the RF head for a triple. An impressive sub 12 seconds from home-to-third reaching top speed extremely quick out of an electric first step. Ward would show the present plus speed again, beating out an infield single at 4.02 H-1st. The outfielder uses an all-fields approach at the plate where the speed can thrive and create havoc on the base paths. There are tools for Ward to profile a high-level glove across the outfield as well with above-average range and good routes that are both backed by the foot speed.
