Body: 5-10, 149-pounds.
Hit: LHH. Wide - semi open stance, hands high next to ear Works the ball to all parts of the field good flat at plane 67.8 mph bat speed with 12 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 82.9 mph. 263' max distance.
Arm: LH.
ATH: 7.18 runner in the 60. 1.76 and 4.00 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 29.00 max vertical.
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 5-11, 145-pounds. Leaner body, athletic. Room for additional size. High waist.
Hit: LHH. Slightly open stance, movement with the hands. Consistent round of BP, smaller leg lift into the swing. Middle of the field approach. 66 mph bat speed with 9 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 83.0 mph. 325' max distance.
Arm: LH. OF-83 mph. Quick, short arm.
Defense: Late glove flip/presentation. Clean when fielding.

Kennesaw State Commit. 5-foot-11, 145-pounds. (11th overall in the ‘26 class, 2nd at his position). VanSumeren is an Overall Athlete. He has a skinny frame with proportional strength. Good lower half with nice bend in the knees. VanSumeren is an advanced LHH. Clean, athletic, controlled swing. Small toe-tap, good load, maintains barrel through extension to create hard contact with ball. VanSumeren will continue to fill out and add muscle to his frame. One of the top prospects in the state. Good Follow to watch throughout the summer.
Kennesaw State commit. 5-foot-11 170-pounds. VanSumeren was a member of the ‘22 Junior Future Games team. He quickly emerged as one of the top left handed bats for the 2026 class in the state. He is starting to get more comfortable at the plate in a varsity setting. The freshman came up big to give Tift the lead in the 4th inning. He is a gamer, and plays the game hard and with a ton of passion. He can play 1B or the OF. He is continuing to fill out and will be able to stick at either position long term with the bat.
