2/27/21

Tall, well-proportioned frame. Good athletic look. Good range of motion to throw shoulder. Starts delivery squared with spread of feet evenly distributed on rubber. Right foot starts to far right. Left foot has slight short step to side with walk into delivery in middle of rubber. Has short quick belt high to chest hand pump with glove and ball.  Extra high leg kick tuck. Gets to front side with quick tempo. Has H ¾-arm slot. Crossfire landing with front foot. Fastball has some ride in the zone action. CB small tilt spin. Slider has dart firm action at plate and a straight change up. From stretch has high hand pump. Needs to develop a slide step when from stretch. Hawk is a good athlete with a good firm arm and upside to be a starter with four usable pitches. Has command and control. FB 85-87, CB 70-73, CH 74-76, SL 71-75.

Charlie Hawk: SS/RHP, (2022) Lawrence Central, IN. 6-foot-2, 175-pound projectable frame. In the box, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 82 mph. Started in a crouched open stance with a smooth load, then used a short stride to start his swing. Bat speed is above average, shows a short swing plane and low finish.  Pu side approach. While in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 84 mph; had Soft hands and a fluid exchange. Had a clean arm action with some accuracy to the bag. Clocked a 60 time of 7.73 at the event. On the mound, had a high ¾ arm angle with above average arm speed. Tilt-and-topple type pitcher and uses some effort. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Sat with his fastball at 82-83 mph and topped out at 83 mph. Curveball (69-71 mph), changeup (71-72 mph), slider (74-75 mph).
