Nickols has made positive trends within his athleticism over a two year follow, now blossoming into a 6-foot-2, 175 pounder build full of lean muscle. There is still room for added strength to louden a hit tool that has shined in my follow with Nickols, though the 98+ mph batting practice exits indicate he is beginning to tap into more of his power. The swing works on a loose, level plane with hand-eye apparent in the bat-to-ball skills. He burned a 6.91 60 and should develop more foot speed with continued maturation. On the dirt, he is sure-handed, with average arm strength, likely profiling best as a 2B/3B at the collegiate level.

Chase Nickols, 3B, Cathedral : Continues to trend in the right direction as an athlete, 6-foot-2, 175 pound frame with lean muscle and quality movement patterns at the dish. Abv avg hit tool is beginning to become impactful with north-of-95 mph exits. Moves well laterally with soft hands on the dirt, average arm strength (81 mph) plays with carry. Solid all around toolset with track record of hitting.

After a big sophomore spring for Cathedral and quality looks on the circuit last summer, Nickols came back to the All-State with a more physical-looking, 6-foot-2, 175 pound frame - and still room for strength gains. The bat is his best tool and the lanky right-handed hitter offers a well-paced, well-connected, right-handed stroke that is very playable & his exits peaked at 96-plus. He now has an above average run tool to pair (6.90) and likely profiles best as a 2B/3B.
