Showing more velocity than my last look in the fall of 2019, Pilcher was up to 93 mph with his sinking fastball, while his above-average spiked slider in the low-80s remains his biggest weapon. With a strong, durable build at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds he has an aggressive delivery and a three-quarter to low three-quarter slot. He telegraphed his 81-85 mph changeup by dropping his hand and slot generating horizontal action with a spin in the 1600 to 1900 rpm range. As the Bulldog closer this spring he earned four saves in seven appearances while striking out 13 in 7 IP. He profiles to the bullpen in professional baseball.
2/21/15: 6-foot-3, 180 pound right-hander pitches from a ¾ slot with a long, loose arm action. Possesses good rhythm in the delivery with a good line to the plate. Lands square. Fastball shows good run with late action at 84-85, touching 87. Breaking ball shows late action at 76-78 from a 10/4 shape. Good changeup at 73-76 with late fade.
10/18/14: 6-foot-3, 175 pound righty possesses a strong, athletic frame. Quick arm speed, long/loose action. Easy effort from a tall to fall delivery. Smooth rhythm with good direction. Lands square, athletic finish. Fastball possesses some cut at 84-86. Showed the ability to throw the slider for a strike at 75-77. Best off-speed pitch was his changeup that was thrown near fastball arm speed with some sink at 75-76.
