6/11/19

6-foot, 175-pound C with a pop time of 1.82-1.89 and an 89 mph exit velocity. Left-handed hitter who starts with his feet open in a tall batting stance; moves his hands back slightly during load. Has a clean load, a consistent swing plane and a short, smooth swing; uses his power for leverage; shows ability to hit ball all over the field. Behind the plate, shows quick feet and a clean, smooth transfer; setup is flexible and evenly distributed. Consistently throws on the bag; short arm action; 77 mph position velocity. Recorded a 60 time of 7.59. Shows great athleticism both at the plate and behind the plate; has the ability to play other positions; is ready to compete at the next level.

2/16/2019: Jake Stadler, C/1B, Mount Vernon HS, 2020, 6 foot, 175 pounds, uses controlled leg lift to load from the left side and had an exit velo of 86 mph. Hands are a little low at launch, but gets on plane with easy bat speed as swing is very simple and balanced. This guy will hit when he puts strength on his frame. Behind the plate, Jake threw 76 mph and had pop times of 1.91-2.10. His feet are good but his transfer is deep and front side is low. Strength will help his throwing as well as his hitting and Jake should be a good follow this spring and summer.

6/12/18: athletic 2020 catcher out of Mt. Vernon. Hits from the left side showed easy bat speed and ability to lift the baseball to deep parts of the field. Bat path is uphill. Uses leg lift trigger and stays balanced throughout swing. Behind the dish showed to be a good receiver with a quick exchange to 2nd. Arm strength is average but makes up for it with the quick exchange. Pops ranged from 1.91 to 2.01./

4/26/18: 2020 prospect who looks to still be growing. Good footwork and soft hands around the bag at 1st. Left handed hitter. Looks very relaxed and comfortable in the box. Open set up with hands set at chest level, short leg lift trigger with hand load as well. Good rhythm in swing, bat path slightly uphill with high finish. Good pitch recognition at plate. Finished the night 0-1 with 3 walks and deep FO to RF. Uncommitted

7/25/17: Home to 1st: 4.71, Position Velocity: C-72, Exit Velocity: 78

6-foot, 155 pound young catcher swings easy and upright from the left side of the plate, generating a line drive swing with some lift to all fields. Sophomore works from tall, slightly open stance using a smooth leg lift load to push the hands back and gain small separation in swing. Has more room in the lower half to separate and gain strength in the swing. Front foot dives small, lands balanced and slightly open with barrel and hands in good launch position. Good frame from the left side, more strength to be gained. Behind the plate, sits low and athletic to catch. Glove works down before the catch, at times late to the ball. Delivered accurate throws to the bag, pop times 2.04-2.17 consistent. Feet and lower half work well to catch and throw, catches glove hand only with clean transfer and release. More arm strength to be developed, pop times will decrease.
