Pyne will be sophomore eligible by age for the 2023 draft and could be considered a Day Two prospect.

10/14/17

60 Time: 7.15, Position Velocity: INF-81, Exit Velocity: 83. 5-foot-10, 160 pound freshman shortstop showed hit tool with some power, driving three homeruns out in BP to pull side, showing good angle and bat speed from the right side. Advanced hitter for age with high ceiling, uses athletic and balanced setup with good rhythm and easy actions. Lower half stays connected and strong throughout, using a leg kick to separate and stride, bat works at good angle up and out of the hitting zone to lift. Good extension out front with pull side power. Athletic, plus defender at shortstop, good instincts and feel for position. Average arm strength across the diamond with good footwork. Young projectable two way prospect.

5-foot-10, 160 pound freshman uses an easy, athletic delivery down the mound with loose, clean arm arm action. Throws across front side, with shoulders and front leg landing closed. Athletic finish. Fastball sat 80-82, mostly down glove side, has chance to be a sink guy. Breaking ball had sweeping action with 10/4 break, thrown 65-67 with inconsistent depth. Changeup was 71-74 with fastball arm speed and some arm side run.
