7/11/17: 60 Time: 6.97, Position Velocity: OF-78, Exit Velocity: 86. 6-foot-2, 210 pound unsigned senior fills out the right handed batters box with big, athletic setup and an easy swing to pull side power. Hits from a wide base, hands elevated up next to the helmet. Small foot lift to stride, lowering the hands and loading the barrel above the helmet, creating a good angle to enter the hitting zone. Lower half works stiff at times, struggles to fire and get back hip through contact. Ball jumps off the bat to the pull side. Hands and upper body work easy to the baseball, creating good launch angle and extension. Physical, corner outfielder, moves easy to field and throw. High front side with long arm swing to throw. Plays well through the baseball with good tempo, under control. Threw with good arm speed and velo from OF.
2/22/15: PITCHING: A projectable 6-foot-2, 185 pound righty, Callahan showcased a fastball that sat 84-85 mph that was kept down in the zone. He possesses a quick, loose arm action with overall good rhythm throughout the delivery. His secondary was inconsistent but does show good movement. Callahan still needs to refine his mechanics, but has big time potential.
6-foot-2, 185 pound freshman displayed easy, athletic actions in the field. Was up to 87 from the outfield, but lacked carry. At the plate starts open. Dives during his stride. Above average bat speed. Hands work. Tendency to close himself off. Registered a high exit velo of 84 mph and ran a 7.12-60. Projects more as a pitcher.
7/29/14: 6 foot 2 inches, 180 pounds, 7.18/60, Young, tall and lanky right hand pitcher, Fastball is 80-83 mph and he touched 85 mph. Short ¾ slot with easy effort, Slider is 67-70 with late sink with fastball arm speed. Very projectable
