Athletic, medium frame body, slender look. Quick body actions and coordination. Ran well for a catcher 6.86 60-yard dash. Will play OF as well and convert ability with good athletic actions for all positions. Good utility type player. Displayed shoulder width base to swing. Low hands start for load up. Tilted straight up bat to start to small wrap and hands locked to load up. Keeps his hands back and loaded until trigger. Generates good bat speed. Strong two handed follow through. Good solid impact with barrel and squared some good balls up well. Accurate 1.95-2.12 pop times as catcher. Feet worked well, hands were soft and athletic actions behind plate. As an OF had good accurate throws that hand carry to them. Bauer can play anywhere on field at next level.

In the box, the right-handed hitters best exit velocity was 86 mph. Began in an athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a short stride before his swing. Has a level swing plane, quick bat speed and good extension on his finish. In the round he found multiple barrels. In the outfield, he used momentum and arm strength to record throws up to 90 mph;had Soft hands and athletic rhythmic footwork. His best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 75 mph; had a quick exchange and athletic footwork. Behind the plate, had a pop time of 2.11-2.21. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Showed an-over-the-top slot.
