+ Turner is a well-rounded gamer that continues to elevate a playable toolset. His carrying trait is his defensive abilities, one of the top defensive shortstops in the class. The actions are well-advanced and he shows body control along with the ability to adjust with one hand. There is easy quickness to the glove-to-hand, and an 88 mph infield arm cements him as a prospect that will stick at short at the next level. Offensively, there is developing bat strength in a repeatable stroke with exits reaching into the low-90s. His foot speed continues to elevate, turning in a 7.10 60-yard dash, to add another layer to the offensive profile. Schools with a need for a true SS in the 2026 class should give Turner a look on the circuit this summer

Turner has been to two events this summer and each time, he has spent the entire batting practice going full-boar taking groundballs at shortstop. This kid can really pick it, and the motor for the game shines even in a showcase setting. The infield actions are some of the best in the class and he has enough arm strength to stick at SS long term (up to 88). Offensively, his 5-foot-11, 160 pound frame is growing into impact, but the short, foot-down-early swing has enough contact skills to play at the next level. 7.10 runner. In short, Turner has turned me into a fan - especially over the last 6 months. He has been a follow for a while, a late bloomer that is really progressing as he heads into his senior year

+ Turner was one of, if not the best, defender at our All-State in March and showed some of the more polished actions I've seen of a junior SS during I/O of my look on him last week. The feet play with fluidity and on-time with the catch, and he shows uber-confident hands with the ability to play with one hand when needed. The exchange is quick and there is present glove-to-hand that flows into a clean arm action that works from multiple slots and was up to 86 in the winter. The defensive tools are ahead of the offensive tools. It is a lateral athlete over straight line runner, and the bat is geared towards contact over power. In total, the ability to take care of the baseball in the middle is what I value here, and strength gains could continue to make him more impactful offensively.

Reid Turner is a 2026 SS with advanced defensive actions and standout footwork that immediately catch the eye. The 5-foot-10, 160-pounder has soft hands, an instinctive first step, and a loose, athletic arm capable of throwing from multiple slots (up to 86 mph). At the plate, Turner profiles as a contact-first right-handed hitter with a short swing and light bat, peaking at 86 mph exit velocity. A 7.34 runner, Turner’s glove leads the way

'26 SS Reid Turner (Yorktown HS, Indiana) dazzled in the infield portion of the workout. Turner can flat-out pick it, with above-average arm strength to match. The infield actions are advanced - he plays with a fluid pace, can play with one hand, and can also play the ball to his right forward. The lean, 5-foot-9, 145 pound frame is still developing at this time, but the glove is already a tool that really stood out amongst his peers at this event.

Body: 5-7, 125-pounds. Lean frame
Hit: RHH. Balanced stance. Minimal upper body load with a hover type stride. Level swing with a gap-to-gap approach. Developing bat speed.
Power: 73 max exit velocity, averaged 70 mph. 190' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-73 mph. Short, quick arm from a 3/4 slot.
ATH: 8.18 runner in the 60. 1.97 in the 10 yard split.
