Hit: RHH. Athletic, crouch setup. Short stride, smooth load with raise in hands. Strong lower half. Longer, level path, gets to extension. Quick bat speed. Shows power potential to his pull side. Led the event in bat speed (79.6 mph) according Blast. 
Power: 91 mph exit velocity (tee), pull-side pop
Defense: Taller setup. Showcased flexibility behind the dish. Firm hands receiving with quick footwork. Ability to block balls in the dirt well. Works in line on his throws to 2B, produced pop times of 1.99-2.01 
Arm: 79 mph from the crouch, short, high 3/4 arm action. Consistently around the bag.
Run: 7.06-60


6-foot-2, 190-pound C / RHP. At the plate, starts with feet even, slight bend in knees and hands even with his head; uses a high elbow to generate power; uses rhythm in his hands. Gets off his back foot well; has a high, one-handed finish; 85 mph exit velocity. At catcher, shows some raw actions; has a clean transfer; feet are consistent; 2.05-2.11 pop time. Successfully put the ball on the bag; sometimes falls towards third base; 78 mph position velocity. On the mound, has a short arm action; uses high leg kick to generate power; stays on top of ball well; locates pitches low in the zone; 83-84 mph FB with a max of 86. Has depth on off speed when he stays on top of the ball; can locate all pitches for strikes; 72-75 mph SL. Recorded a 60 time of 7.42.

2/23/2019: Ty Mathews, C/RHP, Brownsburg HS, 2021, 6 foot, 185 pounds, starts wide at the plate and uses short move forward to separate. Has bat speed as he recorded an exit velo of 89 mph. Swing works flat in zone creating line drives. Recorded pop times of 2.03-2.15 and threw 74 mph from the crouch. Showed some arm strength on the mound with a fastball sitting 83-84, Slider that sat 75-77, and a Changeup that sat 75-79. There is more in the tank as well as Ty shows good arm action with minimal effort. He’s a bit raw still, but has an interesting combination of bat speed and arm speed.

12/16/17:  5-foot-11, 155 pound catcher has a tall, balanced setup in the batters box.  Short stride as hands load back.  Choppy rhythm.  Average bat speed.  Uses all fields.  High exit velocity of 81mph.  Defensively, he has an upright setup with short arm circle.  Quick transfer, long footwork.  Throws topped 72mph.  Strong arm for age.  Pop times ranged 2.12-2.22.
