4/23/15 - Uncommitted class of 2016 right-hand hitting outfielder. Rangy, athletic 6-foot-1, 170-pound lead off hitter. Ran a 4.38 home-to-first, stood in box well against Ray-Pec RHP Kyle Wilson. Middle to pull approach, Covers ground in the OF, good reads, good routes.
11/2/14 - Underwood is an athletic 6-foot-1, 175-pound right-hand hitting outfielder. At the plate showed an open set-up, slight crouch, smooth hand load, inline stride, backside in sync with hands, short swing. Repeatedly flattened out the ball in the middle of the field. 82 mph exit velocity, 6.91 60-yard dash. Quick, athletic actions in the outfield, aggressive to the ball, high three-quarters arm action, 84 mph throwing velocity, accurate throws. 4/18/14 - Underwood is a very athletic 6-foot-1, 175-pound shortstop and a 3-sport athlete for Class 6A Olathe North. He showed agility and quickness with long arms and legs and has room to fill out He is a prospect that is likely to end up in the middle of the field at the next level.  At shortstop he has quick feet and soft hands while staying down and working through the ball with smooth actions and clean exchanges. Making the throw from deep in the hole, his throws have carry and accuracy. Underwood moved to centerfield for the last few innings, where he made the routine fly balls look easy with anticipation and reads off the bat.  On a triple to the right-center gap, he fielded the ball at the warning track and threw a seed to the shortstop at the low cutoff position.  He looks to be a strong, aggressive runner with base stealing speed.  He was quick out of the box on his singles with a 4.51 on the turn from the right side and flashed good speed in centerfield as he ranged both right and left well.  Underwood is a right-handed hitter that hits in the 2-hole for North.  He maintains a balance throughout with a smooth swing that at times gets long.  Using a wide stance with a low leg kick to get his timing he barreled up two singles for a 2-for-3 day with a run scored.
