6/19/18 - Atwood is a 6-foot-5, 195-pound right-handed pitcher and infielder in Kansas’ 2022 class. He ran a 5.28 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 78 mph. During batting practice, Atwood shows a balanced set up, simple load, contact to the middle and pull side of the field, finishes high with his hands. Defensively, Atwood was aggressive to the baseball, high ¾ arm slot, clean transfers, positional velo of 60 mph, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Atwood’s large frame and long limbs make a projectable prospect in the future. During his delivery he gets into backside to drive towards home with good direction, over the top arm action, fastball is 72-74 mph, arm side run, changeup is 57-59 mph, curveball is 56-58 mph, 12-to-6 shape.
