8/14/16- 6-foot-3, 205 pound two way player ran a 7.97 60 yard sprint. Posted a 90mph exit velocity off a tee. Strong physical build. At the plate, put together one of the top rounds of batting practice on the day. Square stance, high hands, short stride triggers uphill swing plane. Showed power to his pull side and the ability to elevate the baseball. In the field, has active feet and playable hands at 1st base. Topped out across the infield at 78 mph. On the mound, fastball sat in the 77-79 mph range. Long arm action on the backside and out front. Front side opens early and loses leverage off his backside. Breaking ball and changeup were thrown from strikes.
5/31/16 - Lujan is a strong 6-foot-2 205-pound right-handed hitting third-baseman in Kansas 2018 class. He ran a 7.81 60 and a 5.00 home-to-first. He has a 93 mph exit velo, one of the top RHH velos for the event. At the plate, open stance, short path to contact, aggressive swing, quick bat, hit balls hard the other way during batting practice, loose hands, advanced swing. On the infield, high three quarters release, fluid transfer, accurate throws, plays through the ball, made all plays cleanly, 76 mph positional velo. On the mound, Lujan’s fastball was at 77-78 mph, curveball was at 68-73 mph, works to contact challenging hitters on both sides of the plate, over the top release, throws with regular effort, repeats delivery, athletic finish.
11/1/15 - Lujan is a 6-foot-1 196-pound right-handed hitting third baseman and right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2018 class. Lujan ran a 7.63 60 and a 5.08 home-to-first. Lujan has an 89 mph exit velo, one of the top of the event for RHH, open stance, accelerated swing, aggressive up the middle, quick and strong hands, stays on ball after contact, solid consistent contact up the middle. On the infield, 79 mph positional velo, three quarters release, aggressive to the ball with quick feet, quick catch and throw, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Lujan has a high three-quarters release, simple and repeatable tall and fall type delivery, strides inline, fastball at 75-79 mph, straight, curveball has 11-to-5 shaped, 70-73 mph, throws for a strike. One of the top right-handed fastball velos on the day.
