At the plate, he displays an open but athletic stance, simple load with hands, level bat path and a good eye for the strike zone during game action. During defensive evaluation, Peterson showed smooth actions, clean arm action, positional velo of 73 mph and very accurate throws. On the mound, Peterson is strike thrower with a steady mix of fastball between 74-77 mph and curveball between 65-66 mph. He locates the fastball to both sides of the plate which showed occasional run while the curveball showed late 12-to-6 action. Peterson has short, quick arm action, high ¾ release and accelerates down the mound.

During batting practice, showed power to pull gap with gap-to-gap approach, athletic set up, reverse toe tap and stride, level path, body controlled throughout swing, 80 mph exit velo. During defensive evals, 73 mph positional velo, momentum through the catch and towards target, short three quarters arm slot, quick catch and throw, mostly accurate throws. Singled down third base line during game action. On the mound, Peterson threw a high percentage of strikes with fastball and curveball, working fastball at 72-75 mph, slight late run, breaking ball at 65-66 mph, 12-to-6 action, down in zone, late break, fastball arm speed, change up at 67 mph, over the top release, repeatable release point, arm works, throws with regular effort, works both sides of plate, able to keep hitters of balance with fastball and breaking ball.
