Body: 5-foot-7, 165-pounds. Short stocky frame.
Defense: Average hands. Gets around the ball and stops the feet before fielding.
Arm: Right-handed. INF - 65 mph. Short quick arm action.
Hit: Right-handed. Standard stance with hands held high. Lifts the leg and carries the hands back. Launches hands straight to the ball. Slightly uphill path with a high finish. 
Power: 79 mph exit velocity from the tee. Found some barrels in BP. 
Run: 4.91 runner home-to-first. 

1/26/19 - Mendez is a 5-foot-7 155-pound right-handed hitting second baseman and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 4.59 home to first and had a 72 mph positional velocity, starts in open stance, slight hand rhythm pre pitch, loaded in back side, attacks ball, simple and short stride, compact swing, middle to pull side contact during hitting evals.  On the infield, high three quarters release, made all plays cleanly, quick transfer and throw, active footwork to the ball, fluid actions, 72 mph positional velocity. On the mound, Mendez comes from a short high three quarters arms slot, hands raise with knee lift, throws with some effort, lands slightly closed, should stay level during delivery, fastball at 64-66 mph, slight run, breaking ball has 10-to-4 shape, gradual action, 58-60 mph, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, 56-58 mph.
