Crawford’s long, lanky levers and ¾ release point have to make for an uncomfortable at-bat, especially factoring in a high-80s power sinker that bursts into the bottom of the zone with life. Crawford also turned to a mid-70s changeup from a near identical arm angle to that aforementioned sinker, making for an intriguing two-pitch profile that erupted out of the ‘pen twice this weekend. Crawford is a high-end arm in the Kansas’ 2023 class and he’s committed to Oklahoma.
Physically advanced 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame with projectability. Oklahoma commit. The right-handed pitcher works out of a quick rocker-step delivery with a repeatable leg swing into his balance point. Aggressive down the mound, landing square to home. Long ¾ arm action with present arm speed. Fastball shows above average run and sink, thrown low in the zone at 85-89 mph. Slider features short 10/4 break with tight spin, 73 mph. Changeup shows solid fade action thrown with good arm speed, 77 mph. Arm to follow in the Kansas 2023 class.
