Comments
12/27/14 - Krull is an athletic 6-foot-6, 200-pound left-hander that showed a lively 84-87 mph fastball, topping out at 89, flashed a late breaking slurve at 70-73 mph and 72-76 mph sinking change-up. Up-tempo delivery, natural three-quarters slot. More aggressive delivery and overall presence than we’ve seen from him before. In the spring and summer months Krull was a solid follow as a tall, young lefty hovering around 80 mph and topping out at 83 – on Saturday he moved into the prospect category in short order with his impressive performance. He was hands-down the top prospect at the event.
6/18/14 - Krull is a projectable, athletic 6-foot-4, 190-pound left-handed pitcher. He has a deliberate delivery with early balance and throws with loose three-quarters arm action. All of his pitches have late movement. His fastball was clocked in the 80-83 mph range – with cutting and sinking action. He also showed feel for a slurve-type breaking ball that matches the angle of his arm slot. He’s one of the top left-handed pitching prospects in the area and as he learns to control the movement on his pitches and adds velocity the sky is the limit for Krull.
6/18/14 - Krull is an athletic, projectable 6-foot-4, 190-pound right-hand hitting outfielder. In the outfield he showed quick feet and exchanges and threw with clean three-quarters arm action. His top throwing velocity was clocked at 80 mph. At the plate he has an athletic set-up and open stance. He uses a leg kick stride and has a fluid hand load. Krull takes an aggressive hack and generates serious bat speed spraying balls all over the yard. His approach is somewhat raw but when you are a 6-foot-4 athlete and the ball flies off your bat – people notice. He's also a talented 6-foor-4 left-handed pitching prospect and is likely to get more attention on that side but with his projectable frame and bat speed you can't rule out the possibility he could develop into a power bat at the next level. His top exit velocity was a camp-best 93 mph. He ran a 4.56 home-to-1B from the right side.
