2/16/19 – Gilstrap has a slender build at 5-foot-10 and 130 pounds. He is a right-handed hitting middle infielder and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2022 class. He ran a 7.84 60 yard dash and posted an exit velocity of 73 mph. During hitting evaluations, Gilstrap starts in an open stance, narrow and in line stride, some rhythm with hands, remains balanced throughout, showed pull contact throughout round of batting practice. On the infield, he shows smooth glove work, quick transfers, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 67 mph, accurate throws. On the mound, Gilstrap has a smooth delivery with some rhythm, uses a high glove side for added deception, high three-quarter release, clean arm action, throws with some effort, fastball is 65-70 mph, thrown for strikes, changeup is 64-65 mph, some depth / sink, curveball is 53-55 mph, gradual action, 11-to-5 shape.
