2/24/18 - McQuinn is an athletic 5-foot-6 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class.  He ran a 4.63 home to first and has an 84 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance with leg kick, minimal hand movement, loose hands with level path through extension, hit the ball out front with mostly middle to pull side line drives, repeats swing with smooth rhythm. In the outfield, 84 mph positional velocity, over the top arm slot, fluid footwork and transfer, with momentum after the catch, throws have carry with backspin. At the plate, repeats swing well, opens stance, controlled leg lift, short in line stride, smooth and accelerated rhythm, consistent gap to gap line drives during hitting evaluations, has strength to middle of the field, feel for the barrel.  In the outfield, 84 mph positional velocity, fluid and athletic actions, under control with momentum to throw, high three quarters arm slot, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, McQuinn throws with regular effort and smooth rhythm, has high three quarters arm slot, simple and repeatable, throws strikes with fastball and curveball, fastball at 72-76 mph, topping out at 77 mph, curveball has 11-to-5 shape, late and sharp break, change up at 68-71 mph, occasional sink, down in zone, near fastball arm speed.

At the plate, athletic set up, controlled in line stride, hands work inside of ball, loose hands, middle to oppo line drives during batting practice, singled in game action.  In the outfield, 78 mph positional velo, high three quarters arm slot, loose arm action, arm works, mostly accurate throws, quick footwork, clean glove to hand exchange, throws have back spin.
