6-foot, 180-pound RHH with strong frame, hits from a balanced stance, short stride, uses strong lower half well to generate good bat speed, flashes power to the gaps, short swing path with good extension through contact, took one of the best rounds of BP all day, went 1-for-3 in game play with a single to RF. Shows adequate hands at third base made some high throws but arm strength plays well on the left side of the infield. Bat is his best current tool.

2/13/16 - 60 Time: 7.27, Position Velocity:  IF-78, Exit Velocity: 90
6-foot, 180-pound RHH improved ever measurable from his previous event. Hits from a narrow/slightly open stance, squares up with a short stride, has strength in swing that translates into power, ball jumps off the barrel to the pull side. Average corner actions with solid hands, showed some body control on slow roller, long high-3/4 release produced accurate throws, good jump in arm strength from previous event. Ison has showed consistent improvement in his game.

As a pitcher, uses long arm action and works through a high-3/4 to over the top arm slot with regular effort, fastball is thrown for strikes and shows occasional late sink, struggled at times to find consistent release point on curveball but is showed solid 12/6 action when he got out front with it, changeup is a solid offering thrown with good arm action and has late sink through the zone.

6/29/15 - 6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitter hits from an open stance and squares up with a short stride, uses strong lower half well, shows gap power, compact swing with good extension through contact, consistently squared the baseball in BP, 84 mph exit velocity, ran a 7.48 60, went 1-for-4 in game play with a single to left field making contact in each at bat. Shows average corner actions at third base, playable hands, high-3/4 release with some accurate throws, 73 mph velocity across the infield (have seen up to 78), bat is his current best tool. As a pitcher, with strong lower half, uses long arm action through a high-3/4 arm slot, good rhythm in delivery with regular effort, had command issues early but settled into a solid outing, fastball sat 74-78 mph with some late sink, showed a 63-66 mph curveball with gradual 11/5 action, also flashed a 70 mph changeup thrown with good arm action, walked one and hit one in his first inning of work but pitched a perfect second inning, finished allowing no hits with two strikeouts (both looking on FB’s) in his two innings of work.

2/14/15 - 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect, right-handed hitter hits from a tall stance, uses a short stride, short swing path with good extension through contact, maintains good balance through finish, line drive type hitter and has developed some gap power, 81 mph exit velocity, ran an improved 7.55 60-yard dash. Defensively, shows playable hands with average lateral movement, can play through the slow roller more aggressively, showed a jump in arm strength at 78 mph across the infield, has made noticeable improvements to overall game. As a pitcher, has shown a big increase in velocity over the last year. Uses long arm action through a high-3/4 slot, deliberate deliver with regular effort, fastball is straight and sat 79-83 mph, 66-70 mph curveball was inconsistent as he got around some leaving them flat, curveball shows 11/5 action when he stays on top, showed some feel for 71-73 mph changeup that is straight, also throws a 67 mph knuckleball with some dance through the zone, has shown a 5-8 mph increase in velocity from last winter.

2/16/14 - 5-foot-11, 165-pound prospect with athletic build, showed an accurate arm across the infield at 70 mph.  At the plate, hits from a open and tall setup, squares front side with a short stride, gets some lower half involved in swing, level path to the ball, ran 8.01 60 yard dash, registered 81 mph tee exit velocity (6 mph increase from January event).

1/19/14 - 5-foot-11, 165-pound prospect with athletic build, shows average hands, tends to field the ball deep, accurate arm with long arm action, top velocity was 70 mph across the infield.  At the plate, hits from a slightly open setup, squares front side with a short stride, tendency to be late causing an opposite field approach, registered 75 mph tee exit velocity, ran 5.07 down the first base line.
