12/31/21

The Mississippi recruit excelled as a Logan freshman in 2021, going 8-1 (three complete games) with a 2.59 ERA and 61/18 K/BB in 59 innings. At 6-foot-2, Henninger creates elite spin and uses it effectively from a lower slot. He gets Hop on his 91-93 mph fastball, with an average spin rate around 2500 rpm and a Hop+ of 103. His 2859-rpm breaking ball is a tight-spinner at 81-83, and he uses that elite spin to create more horizontal break, giving him an out pitch at the highest level. He also mixes in a present above-average cutter in the upper-80s. As a strike-thrower who combines quality stuff with high spin metrics, Henninger looks to be the complete package for scouts and front office analysts.

6/19/18 - Uncommitted. Wiry-athletic with a lean frame, Henninger stands 6-foot-2, 160-pounds with plenty of room to continue filling out. His fastball topped out at 84 mph on a blazing hot day, but he was up to 87 mph earlier in the week at a PBR Kentucky showcase, and I think he will be up even higher in the near future. Possessing a whippy-loose arm, Henninger’s fastball jumps out of his hand towards the plate. His controlled delivery and linear movement to the plate allow for no wasted actions, and allow for his fastball to play up even harder. He did not need his slider for much of the outing, but when he finally flashed one at 74 mph, it took tight, short break, and showed signs of being a weapon in the future. The athletic right-hander has a high-ceiling that he should quickly approach as he matures more physically.

6-foot-2, 165-pound RHP. Long/lanky frame with a ton of projection. Huge upside. Long/loose arm action. High-3/4 slot. Fastball has some tilt and pounds the bottom of the zone with it. Showed 4-5 mph velocity gain since the fall. Quickness in arm. Hard curveball with late break will likely develop into power slider. Has proven to be one of the top arms in the 2020 class. Definite high follow this spring.

60 Time: 7.52, Position Velocity:  OF-87, Exit Velocity: 88
