Physical 6'3" 230 lbs. durable, workhorse type of frame. The Southeastern Louisiana recruit was given the start last week against district-rival Barbe. His night ended early, due to sporradic control, but there's no denying the arm talent and potential upside. Toups worked his FB in the 87-91 mph range and pretty much sat 88-90 mph throughout his outing. He didn't have control of his low-70's CB or his 76-78 mph CH on this night, which was a big reason why Barbe was able to jump on him early, as they were sitting on just the FB. Toups finished his 2 IP giving up 4 ER on 3 H with 3 BB and 2 K's (51 pitches | 27 Strikes | 24 Balls). If he can get back to closer to a 2:1 strike to ball ratio and can land his off-speed pitches consistently, then he'll definitely be tough to beat.

Positional Profile: LHP/1B A really good uncommitted southpaw to follow in the state's '24 class
Body: 6-3, 228-pounds.
Delivery: Starts on 3B side of rubber and stays there, short stride to 3B side, brings glove up overhead and back down, shorter leg lift, turns front side inward to hide ball, swings lead leg out and strides on line finishing off to 3B side a little, moves well down the slope with minimal effort
Arm Action: LH. Long and loose with a 3/4 release
FB: T85.9, 83-86 mph. Arm-side sink and run, commanded the ball well to arm side T2078, 2016 average rpm.
SL: 69-72 mph. Sweeping shape with more lateral break than depth T2059, 1935 average rpm.
CH: 76-76 mph. Really good secondary offering that tunnels well off FB with late fade T2145, 2074 average rpm.

Body: 6-3, 228-pounds. XL physical frame
Delivery: Worked primarily out of the stretch, slow and controlled delivery, lower leg lift, strides on-line and finishes square to his target
Arm Action: LH. Loose arm action, 3/4 to low 3/4 release
FB: T82.5, 80-82 mph. Natural sink and run to the arm side, saw a lot of whiffs on FB to the arm side to both RHH and LHH T1993, 1908 average rpm.
SL: 70-71 mph. Sweeps across the zone with some late bite, needs to improve control T1884, 1866 average rpm.
CH: 74-77 mph. Looked to be best secondary offering, firmer CH with some fade T2095, 2072 average rpm.
